PDF to Word
Convert PDFs into editable .docx files while keeping layout.

We're polishing this tool — read on to learn what it'll do, or try one of our working tools above.
PDF to Word is the right tool when you've been sent a PDF that should have been a Word doc. Converterzilla's converter will extract text, tables, images and formatting and rebuild them as an editable .docx — preserving fonts and structure where possible.
How PDF to Word will work once it ships
This tool isn't live yet — the steps below describe the planned experience, not something you can do today.
- Drop your PDF. Upload the PDF you want to edit. Both text-based and OCR-readable scanned PDFs are supported.
- Pick conversion mode. Choose Faithful (preserves visual layout) or Editable (prioritizes flowing text for easy editing).
- Download your Word file. We produce a .docx ready to open in Word, Pages, Google Docs or LibreOffice.
What PDF to Word will offer
Two conversion modes
Faithful for layout-critical documents (forms, brochures), Editable for text-first documents (reports, contracts).
Tables preserved
Tabular data converts as real Word tables, not images — fully editable cell by cell.
OCR built in
Scanned PDFs are OCR'd before conversion, turning images of text into editable text in Word.
