PDF to Word is the right tool when you've been sent a PDF that should have been a Word doc. Converterzilla's converter will extract text, tables, images and formatting and rebuild them as an editable .docx — preserving fonts and structure where possible.

How PDF to Word will work once it ships

This tool isn't live yet — the steps below describe the planned experience, not something you can do today.

  1. Drop your PDF. Upload the PDF you want to edit. Both text-based and OCR-readable scanned PDFs are supported.
  2. Pick conversion mode. Choose Faithful (preserves visual layout) or Editable (prioritizes flowing text for easy editing).
  3. Download your Word file. We produce a .docx ready to open in Word, Pages, Google Docs or LibreOffice.

Tables preserved

Tabular data converts as real Word tables, not images — fully editable cell by cell.

OCR built in

Scanned PDFs are OCR'd before conversion, turning images of text into editable text in Word.

Questions we expect about PDF to Word

Faithful mode is close to perfect for most documents. Complex multi-column layouts may need minor tweaking after conversion.

We run OCR (English by default; more languages via toggle) and the converted Word file contains real, editable text.

Yes. Embedded images come through as inline images in the resulting Word document.
